So, why carrots?

Ever since 2018, I’ve been hiding carrots in all of my personal projects.

It all started at uni when I had to add some spaceships on a background shot of a futuristic city. The spaceships would have been so small, that it didn’t really matter what picture I used, so I googled a picture of the one thing that was right in front of me on my desk in that moment. You guessed it.

Officially my first ever project that included hidden carrots.

For some reason, it really stuck with people and it became my signature. It was amazing hearing that when someone saw my showreel at a VFX studio in London, they didn’t remember my name, but they remembered that I was the “Carrot guy”.

Since then, this has turned into an easter egg hunt. I love hiding carrots in plain sight, just to show how easy it is to miss things that are right in front of you. So if you see anything made by me, be it a picture, a video or a virtual airplane in a flight simulator, rest assured that you can find a carrot there. In fact, there are more than 10 hidden on this website, excluding any on this page.

So to answer the question… Why? Just for fun.

Happy hunting.

Here’s a photo of me eating a carrot in 1994.

By the way, the carrot logo above was created by tracing an outline of a carrot logo, that my girlfriend embroidered (!!!) for me into a t-shirt. Yep, she’s a keeper.
